It might be Sunday but let’s not kid ourselves that loungewear isn’t most days at the moment. These were a Mother’s Day gift from hubby.. personalised tracksuits for the kids and a mama jumper for me from @myrockingkids and really reasonably priced too. Might as well up our game on the “Sunday wear” now 😆 Ps - anyone else’s baby totally obsessed with mobile phones and remote controls?! #sundaybest

Things I have learnt this week: 💫 All children & dogs want is love and attention from you ❤️ 💫 My need to keep the kids in a happy calm environment but it’s also ok to not be perfect all the time - emotions are real 💫 Take in the little moments whether that is going for a walk with just you and your dog/playing with the kids/ looking out of a window and appreciating the stillness 💫 How grateful Sam and I are that he doesn’t WFH in normal circumstances 🤣 💫My gratitude (which was always there but now definitely enhanced during these times) for NHS workers, nursery teachers!! (😂), cleaners, police, postal service, grocery store workers 💫Blessed to have a roof over our head and a loving home 💫How important human contact is with friends and family⠀ What has this week taught you?

Making the most of being outdoors living the country life, with no one around just us. This really makes me wish I had a garden for Sophia and Frank especially in time’s likes these.. and goodness knows when we will move now 😩. I feel like a couple of days self isolating in a different place has reset us all - never under estimate the power of fresh air for your mental health #staystrongeveryone

SURVIVAL MODE - New toys vs Old toys - I’ve (Victoria) have been collecting a few bits and bobs for Arthur and Rupert over the past 6 months for when baby arrives. My plan was to have a little stash of new toys to crack out when I needed them the most. Things to excite them, things for creativity, things for play. Needless to say i’ve delved into my basket of treats this week 🤦‍♀️ I know presents don’t solve everything but they’ve certainly helped me out as my energy is pretty much none existent. Meanwhile Izzy has been focusing on being creative with what she has already at home, using imaginative play and conjuring up games and activities for the her two girls and Frank. So what we are trying to say is...do whatever you can at the moment. Don’t feel guilty for rewarding with treats and don’t worry about not doing enough. Keeping young children (and dogs) entertained at home is HARD. We are doing all we can in whatever shape and form that might be. We hope like lots of you next week everything settles down slightly and on the plus side we’ve it through week zero (just).
